Georgia Institute of Technology Ocean Science and Engineering - OSE

I am interested in the chemical language that microbes use to communicate, compete, and cooperate in aquatic/marine environments. My current research in the lab of Dr. Julia Kubanek focuses on how the metabolomes of microalgae (Emiliania huxleyi) are influenced by chemical compounds released by marine bacteria which could impact global biogeochemical cycles. Focusing my research towards actionable environmental outcomes, mentoring undergraduates in and outside of research, and communicating about ocean science and my research with the community are also important aspects of my work at Georgia Tech.
