Georgia Institute of Technology Ocean Science and Engineering - OSE

Youngjun graduated with a master in Industrial Engineering and Naval Architecture at Seoul National University in 2012. He then spent several years in researching hydrodynamics and mooring technologies with Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd., Ulsan, Korea between 2011-2017. He has a diverse knowledge ranging over environmental loads, potential theory, nonlinear damping, damping linearization, spectral analysis, extreme statistics, design waves, load combination factors, mooring, risers, dynamic positioning, wave basin model tests, and CFD. He joins the Program in Ocean Science and Engineering to study hydrodynamics and ocean mechanics to develop new devices for ocean applications such as renewable energy converters. His interest in the program is motivated by the need to integrate diverse and complex knowledge beyond one particular discipline in order to develop new marine resources.
